EPIRB new generation product manufactured in accordance with the new provisions of IMO circular MSC471. It integrates AIS, the device at the heart of the GMDSS global maritime coordination system. Through AIS, the position of the shipwrecked person will not only be visible to the rescue coordination centre, but also to all ships (required to be equipped with AIS) and all vessels that have installed at least one AIS receiver. The positioning system used is GNSS and utilises both the European Galileo and GPS satellites. To send distress messages to COSPA-SARSAT, it also uses the new MEOSAR satellite constellation, which allows the position of the shipwrecked person to be detected even before the EPIRB signal reaches the coordination centre.
Of course, it has all the features that have always distinguished GME EPIRBs, such as a high-intensity strobe, self-heating electronic components (“Zero warm-up”) and a simple and immediate self-test procedure that allows you to check that it is working properly in just a few seconds. Compliant with the new IMO MSC471 resolution.
