OGIVE ZINC ANODE FOR BTQ 300

The zinc anode (nosepiece) for the Quick electric bow thruster leg, model BTQ300: it fits over the propeller nose to protect it from galvanic corrosion.
Sacrificial anodes wear away in place of the metals they protect from galvanic corrosion: they must be checked and replaced once wear exceeds 60%, since beyond that point they lose their protective capacity. Zinc or aluminium is used in seawater (aluminium, for equal protection, weighs a third less, has a higher electronegative potential and is less polluting, making it especially suited to aluminium hulls); magnesium is preferred for freshwater-only use.
