ZINC OGIVE ANODE FOR SP 55-75-95

The zinc nosepiece anode for Side-Power SP55-75-95 series electric bow thrusters: it fits over the thruster's propeller nose to protect it from galvanic corrosion.
Sacrificial anodes wear away in place of the metal parts they protect from galvanic corrosion: they must be checked and replaced once wear exceeds 60%, since beyond that point they no longer provide effective protection. Zinc or aluminium is used in seawater (aluminium, for equal protection, weighs a third less, has a higher electronegative potential and is less polluting, making it especially suited to aluminium hulls); magnesium is preferred for freshwater-only use.
